Phoenix, AZ – Multi-Car Crash Causes Injuries on L-202 at Scottsdale Rd
Phoenix, AZ (July 25, 2020) – A multi-vehicle wreck on Saturday afternoon resulted in at least one injured victim, per reports from the Phoenix Police Department.
In addition to the Phoenix Police Department, local rescue units were dispatched to the scene. Officials say that the accident occurred when two passenger cars collided in the left lanes of L-202 westbound, also known as the Red Mountain Freeway, at Scottsdale Road around 1:30 p.m. Fire rescue and police units assisted injured victims and worked to determine the cause of the wreck, though they have not released the drivers’ information at this time. It appears that at least one victim may have been transported to an area hospital via ambulance, but further details on the extent of their injuries have not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Arizona
Statewide crash numbers from last year show that two or more vehicles were involved in more than half of the 55,000 total car accidents that occurred. The Arizona Transportation Department notes that those crashes resulted in nearly 35,000 injuries. Because of the nature of these multi-vehicle wrecks, victims and families could be paying a steep price.
And despite an overall decline in the number of crashes and injuries on Arizona roads last year, traffic deaths were at their highest level in more than a decade.
In fact, there were 1,010 fatalities on the state’s roads last year, according to the annual crash facts report released Tuesday by the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Those involved in multi-vehicle accidents may experience a number of tragic, unforeseen consequences after a wreck, from long-term medical expenses and serious injuries to even job loss or death. But those affected can contact a Phoenix crash lawyer for help, and in some cases, seek justice from a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.
