Phoenix, AZ – Rear-End Crash Causes Injuries on SR 51 at McDowell Rd
Phoenix, AZ (February 1, 2021) – A multi-vehicle crash left at least one victim injured on Monday morning in Phoenix.
Troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety shut down the left northbound lanes of State Route 51 shortly before 7:00 a.m. Officers from the Phoenix Police Department stated that the accident occurred just north of McDowell Road. The lanes were reopened a little over an hour later, though it’s unclear how the crash occurred at this time. The accident appeared to occur after at least two sedans collided in a possible rear-end incident, but police say other vehicles may have been involved.
Phoenix EMTs were also dispatched to the scene of the wreck to treat victims and may have transported some victims to an area hospital. However, the Phoenix Police Department is still investigating and has not released the victims’ information or their current conditions.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.
