Phoenix, AZ (January 18, 2020) – Officers from the Phoenix Police Department are investigating a deadly crash that occurred Friday involving a motorized scooter near 3rd Street and Bell Road.

The accident took place around 6:00 p.m. when 72-year-old Boruch Pinkhasov was riding his motorized scooter on Bell Road. Pinkhasov was crossing mid-block when he was struck by a Dodge pickup truck. Pinkhasov was taken to a local hospital by Phoenix EMTs and was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the truck, a 26-year-old woman, stopped and remained at the scene until officers arrived.

The investigation remains ongoing, but authorities say that the driver was not impaired at the time of the accident.
