Phoenix, AZ (April 25, 2020) – A Phoenix police officer was taken to the hospital after a car accident that occurred near 7th Street and Bell Road on Saturday.

According to a spokesperson with the Phoenix Police Department, a police SUV had its emergency lights activated when trying to turn left on to 7th Street from Bell Road around 10:30 a.m. As the police SUV made its turn, another car crashed into it with enough force to cause the police vehicle to roll over into two other cars at the intersection.

The officer was transported to an area hospital via ambulance, but no other injuries were reported in the crash at this time. The wreck remains under investigation.
