Surprise, AZ – One Killed in Train Accident at Nash St & Santa Fe Dr
Surprise, AZ (August 16, 2020) – A person has died after getting struck by a train in Surprise early on Sunday morning.
Officers with the Surprise Police Department say that they are investigating the incident, which happened around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday near Nash Street and Santa Fe Drive. The name of the victim hasn’t been released, but rescue units dispatched to the scene of the accident shortly after it occurred said that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Surprise police officers also say that no other victims were involved in the train accident but did not comment on whether eyewitnesses saw the train accident or had any further information.
It’s unclear what that person was doing on the tracks at the time that they were struck by the train.
Police are working with the railway to review video taken in the area and are continuing to investigate the crash at this time.
