Phoenix, AZ – Serious Injuries Reported in Head-on Crash at 19th Ave & Cactus Rd
Phoenix, AZ (December 12, 2020) – Two people were seriously injured after a head-on crash occurred in north Phoenix on Saturday night.
Per reports from the Phoenix Police Department and a Phoenix Fire Department spokesperson, the crash happened on 19th Avenue, just south of Cactus Road, around 7:45 p.m. Phoenix police dispatched to the scene said that a red car traveling southbound on 19th Avenue crossed over the middle line and struck a northbound-traveling SUV.
The driver of the red vehicle and a 10-year-old child who wasn’t wearing a seat belt were both transported to the hospital in serious condition. Phoenix fire said both had critical injuries but were taken to area medical centers in stable condition. Police are investigating possible impairment for the driver of the red vehicle. It was unclear if anyone in the SUV was hurt, but the accident remains under investigation at this time.
