Phoenix, AZ – Rear-End Crash Causes Injuries on L-101 at Elliot Rd
Phoenix, AZ (October 11, 2020) – A multi-car crash blocked several lanes of Loop 101 at Elliot Road on Sunday afternoon and resulted in at least one injury.
Officials say that the crash appeared to involve at least two cars that collided in the right lanes of L-101 westbound, also known as the Price Freeway, at the Elliot Road off-ramp around 3:00 p.m. Authorities from the Phoenix Police Department said that the accident appeared to be caused by a rear-end incident, but further details about the events leading up to the crash were not released.
Police and fire rescue units assisted injured victims and worked to determine the cause of the apparent chain-reaction crash. EMTs were also at the scene and may have transported at least one victim to the hospital; however, authorities from the Phoenix Police Department have not released the victims’ information at this time.
The accident remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Multi-Car Collisions in Arizona
Accidents involving multiple vehicles are one of the most frequent causes of death nationally. Nearly 55,000 of these types of vehicle accidents happened in Arizona in 2018. In other words, more than half of those crashes involved at least two cars, according to data from the Arizona Department of Transportation. This means more injuries, more property damage, and more trauma for those involved in these serious accidents.
Furthermore, there are almost three fatalities each day from car crashes across Arizona. This amounts to approximately 1,000 traffic deaths per year across the state.
Tens of thousands of injuries and fatalities occur each year as a result of these multi-car collisions.
But those affected by these unfortunate wrecks can contact a Phoenix crash injury lawyer for help. In some cases, victims may seek the fair compensation they deserve from a wrongful death suit or personal injury lawsuit.
